Thriving Every Step of the Way

As James grew, he transitioned into our After Schools Programme, where he continued to build friendships, develop new skills and enjoy a safe, inclusive environment. Throughout this time, our staff recognised the progress he was making and carefully supported him to move into our Social Group Programme, ensuring the transition happened at the right time for his individual needs. Today, James is thriving within the Social Group. He has developed excellent social skills, increased confidence, greater self-esteem and is a valued member of the Social Group. He has become a natural leader, regularly helping to prepare snacks, welcoming and supporting new members as a buddy, and setting a positive example for his peers. James is also a talented football player who loves getting out with his friends in the group for a friendly game of 5-a-side, he looks forward to our Summer Scheme every year, where he continues to build friendships and enjoy all new experiences sent his way. James’ journey is a wonderful example of how the right support at the right time can help a child reach their full potential. In a mainstream youth setting, James may not have received the personalised support he required. At Kids Together, our staff were able to recognise his changing needs, nurture his strengths, and carefully guide him through each stage of his development. We were fortunate enough to be able to follow James’ journey throughout Kids Together, watching him flourish into the confident, caring and capable young person he is today. Mum’s Feedback - "Kids together isn't just a place to send your child, it's a place that loves and nourishes them. James has been part of kids together since 2017 and in those years of the rainbow group, summer schemes and after-school clubs he has flourished. From being a non-verbal, separation anxiety and general anxiety to a young boy who loves attending Kids Together each week. The staff go above and beyond for him and every child in their care and I'm beyond grateful as a family to have kids together part of James life, and equally ours for advice and guidance through James life journey".
